Tom Robinson is a globally recognized financial professional, educator, author and consultant. From 2015 to 2020 he served as CEO of AACSB International, the primary global accreditor and membership organization of business schools. As president and CEO, he worked alongside the organization’s board and global network of staff, members, and volunteers to foster engagement, accelerate innovation, and amplify impact in business education.
Previously, Tom spent 7 years at CFA Institute most recently as Managing Director of Education globally and the Americas. He provided vision for a 100+ member global team— serving the needs of investment professionals and universities. Prior to employment by CFA Institute, Tom was very active with the organization authoring much of the curriculum on financial statement analysis and valuation. He also was on the team that developed and refined the item set format used in examinations. In 2019, Tom received CFA Institute’s Outstanding Contribution to CFA Institute Education Programs Award. Presented in honor of C. Stewart Sheppard, founding executive director of the CFA Institute, the award recognizes extraordinarily significant contributions to the CFA Institute through leadership, exceptional stewardship, and outstanding service.
Prior to joining CFA Institute, Tom spent 14 years at the University of Miami serving as a tenured accounting faculty member and in several administrative roles including department chair, director of the Master of Professional Accounting Program and director of Personal Financial Planning programs. He taught graduate courses in financial statement analysis, personal financial planning, and valuation. Throughout his academic career, Tom has won several teaching awards, has published regularly in academic and professional journals, and has authored or co-authored many books including; · Asian Financial Statement Analysis: Detecting Financial Irregularities, The Strategic Value Investor: Practical Techniques of Leading Value Investors, The New Wealth Management: The Financial Advisors Guide to Managing and Investing Client Assets, International Financial Statement Analysis, and Analysis of Equity Investments: Valuation. Concurrently he served as a financial advisor and consultant on investment matters.
Prior to joining the University of Miami, Robinson Tom public accounting and financial planning for almost a decade, primarily with Deloitte and Pritchett Dlusky & Saxe in Columbus, Ohio.
